tobias kurig
bouzouki

Tobi's instrument is commonly referred to as a “Blarge” - an abbreviation for a large, open tuned Bouzouki with five pairs of strings. He is responsible for the powerful and dynamic accompaniment in the band.

After many weeks playing tunes together in Germany the idea to record a set of tunes for our polish friends was on our minds. After falling miserably with a mini disc player and a dodgy mike, we decided to head back to fox music studios and do it right. With one thing leading to another, before you know it you've got more than you bargained for.

He has also played with many other groups around Germany including Shanachie, Déirin Dé and Steampacket. For many year now Tobi has been playing traditional Irish music, but this wasn't always the case. He spent many year playing in a rock band on electric bass and was slowly submerged in to the trad scene after meeting Ann Grealy the singer from Déirin Dé.
