Coming from a background rich in violin education, Franziska fell in love with fiddle playing at a very early age and started learning classical music with a fiery enthusiasm. Then at the age of 16 she travelled to South Africa and whilst there became involved with Irish traditional music (of course, where else would this happen!) and she blossomed from there and never looked back.

She got more involved with the Irish music scene by travelling around Ireland for many months learning different styles of fiddle playing an on returning to Germany she started playing in many bands including Dán who she is still a part of.
